Immigration Psychological Evaluations in Dallas, TX

Compassionate, Thorough Evaluations to Help Support Your Immigration Case

The immigration process can be one of the most stressful periods in a person’s life. Alongside legal documents and deadlines, you may be carrying uncertainty about your future, your family, and the life you have worked hard to build.

An immigration psychological evaluation gives you an opportunity to share your experiences in a safe, supportive environment. It also provides your immigration attorney with a professionally prepared clinical report that may help support your case.

At Mind Moving Therapy, Lauren Roth Mozik, MS, LPC, NCC, CAS, and Pearl Valasquez, MS, LPC provide comprehensive immigration psychological evaluations in Dallas, Texas, and online for clients in qualifying locations.

VAWA, U Visa, T Visa, and extreme hardship evaluations are available to clients located in Texas and Colorado. N 648 evaluations are available to eligible clients located in any United States state. Mind Moving Therapy does not currently provide asylum evaluations.

Every evaluation is completed with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and careful attention to the experiences that have shaped your life.

Why an Immigration Psychological Evaluation Matters

Immigration cases often involve experiences that are difficult to communicate through legal documents alone. These experiences may include trauma, abuse, separation from loved ones, victimization, financial instability, or prolonged uncertainty about the future.

An immigration mental health evaluation documents the emotional and psychological effects of these experiences in a professional and objective manner. The resulting report can help immigration attorneys and adjudicators better understand the human impact behind your petition.

Although an evaluation cannot guarantee the outcome of your case, it may become an important piece of supporting evidence when incorporated into your attorney’s broader legal strategy.

A Thoughtful and Respectful Evaluation Process

Many people worry that an immigration evaluation will feel intimidating or overwhelming. The process is designed to give you a supportive and structured setting in which to share your experiences.

Our providers understand that immigration clients may have lived through deeply painful or frightening circumstances. We conducts every evaluation with patience, respect, and cultural sensitivity. You will be given time to explain your experiences without feeling rushed or judged.

Most evaluations are completed through approximately two 90 minute appointments. During these meetings, Lauren or Pearl gather the information needed to prepare a comprehensive report reflecting your history, current emotional functioning, and the psychological issues relevant to your immigration case.

An interpreter may participate when needed to support clear and comfortable communication.

What Your Immigration Evaluation May Include

Every immigration psychological assessment is individualized. Depending on your circumstances and the type of petition, the evaluation may explore:

  • Childhood and family background

  • Educational history

  • Employment and career experiences

  • Immigration history

  • Medical and mental health history

  • Current emotional functioning

  • Family and relationship history

  • Trauma, abuse, or victimization

  • Financial and caregiving responsibilities

  • The effects of separation or possible relocation

  • The emotional impact of immigration related uncertainty

  • Future goals, needs, and concerns

These conversations allow our providers to develop a complete clinical picture rather than focusing on only one part of your experience.

Working With Your Immigration Attorney

An immigration evaluation therapist serves a specific role within your broader legal team.

We work collaboratively with immigration attorneys by preparing clear, professionally written reports that address the psychological issues relevant to each client’s petition. The evaluation is intended to complement your attorney’s legal arguments, not replace their legal advice or representation.

With your permission, your attorney may communicate relevant concerns, questions, or documentation requirements to our team. This collaboration helps make the final report both clinically thorough and useful to the legal process.

Mind Moving Therapy provides psychological services and does not offer legal advice. Questions about immigration eligibility, filing requirements, or legal strategy should be directed to a qualified immigration attorney.

A Trauma Focused and Culturally Sensitive Approach

Many people seeking immigration relief have experienced events that continue to affect their emotional well being long after those events occurred.

Trauma can affect memory, concentration, sleep, relationships, and daily functioning. It can also make it difficult to revisit or discuss painful experiences.

We approach each evaluation with an understanding that these reactions can be natural responses to extraordinarily difficult circumstances. We create an environment where you can feel heard and respected while gathering the clinical information needed for a thorough report.

The goal is to produce a clinically sound evaluation while treating you with dignity throughout an important and often overwhelming chapter of your life.
